First Nations group finishing journey from Yukon to Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc

TK’EMLUPS — Warriors Walk for Healing Nations is set to arrive in Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc (TteS) territory on Monday (Aug. 9) to complete their journey.

The group, who are from the Tahltan, Vuntut Gwich’in, Northern and Southern Tutchone, Tlingit, and Kaska Nations, began their journey from the Yukon in late June and have been welcomed and honoured by many Nations throughout their near two-month long journey.

Warriors Walk for Healing Nations is walking to raise awareness for all residential school survivors, and for the remains of victims that have been found at the Kamloops Indian Residential School and all other locations.

TteS is inviting the public to join in welcoming Warrior Walk for Healing Nations. The walkers will arrive at the Highway 1 Brake Checkpoint. The walk is expected to start a 9 a.m. and the group will arrive to TteS anytime between noon and 1 p.m.
