KAMLOOPS – Long-term care residents in 100 Mile House and Ashcroft are being moved to safe locations while the two communities face Evacuation Alerts.

Yesterday more than a dozen long-term care residents and acute care patients were moved. Today (July 15) Interior Health announced an additional 40 long-term care residents are being evacuated from 100 Mile House.

100 Mile House is under an Evacuation Alert because of the Flat Lake wildfire southwest of the community.

Interior Health says the 100 Mile District General Hospital is not being evacuated. It suggests anyone who requires emergency care, should use the hospital’s emergency services.
