Tremont Creek wildfire puts 675 properties on evacuation alert

KAMLOOPS — An evacuation alert was issued by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) Emergency Operations Centre in Kamloops Wednesday (July 14) evening.

The 750-hectare Tremont Creek wildfire near Barnes Lake in Electoral Area “I” (Blue Sky Country) poses a threat to the structures and residents for 675 properties.

It includes all properties in Savona, Walhachin, Thompson River Estates, and any other properties located within the area noted on the attached map.

Elsewhere, the 2,033-hectare West of Flat Lake wildfire caused an evacuation alert for 650 properties in the Bonaparte Plateau electoral area.

Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation, although they may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.
