TNRD issues evacuation alert for 50 properties near Barnes Lake

KAMLOOPS — An evacuation alert was issued by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) Emergency Operations Centre in Kamloops Tuesday (July 13) evening.

The five-hectare Tremont Creek wildfire near Barnes Lake in Electoral Area “I” (Blue Sky Country) poses a threat to the structures and residents for 50 properties.

It includes:

• 3165 Barnes Lake Rd to 3820 Barnes Lake Rd
• 2000 Hwy 97C to 2480 Hwy 97C
• 2606 Kirkland Ranch Rd
• 4020 Studhorse Rd
• 1886 and 1924 Woods Creek FSR
• 4380 Y D Ranch Rd to 4499 Y D Ranch Rd
• any other properties located within the area noted on this map:

Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation, although they may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.
