RCMP identify suspect in Star Lodge stabbing
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP have identified a suspect in the Tuesday afternoon (Apr. 20) stabbing in Lower Sahali.
Mounties were called to the Star Lodge on Columbia Street West at about 3:30 p.m., finding a man in his 50s suffering from stab wounds. Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cst. Crystal Evelyn says the man was conscious and breathing at the time. His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
Frontline officers and the Police Dog Services Unit attended, but could not track a suspect down. Since then, investigators have identified a suspect. They say the suspect and victim knew each other, and that the two “were involved in a confrontation which escalated into an assault.”
