Kamloops RCMP looking for suspect after stabbing at local motel
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops RCMP are looking for a suspect in relation to a stabbing on Tuesday afternoon on the Frontage Road next to Columbia Street. Police, fire and ambulance were called to the Star Lodge for a report of a stabbing after 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
There are few details at this point, as officers talk to witnesses and residents at the motel and collect evidence from the scene.
“Right now, it’s very early in the investigation, but I can tell you just after 3:30 we got called to the Star Lodge / Desert Inn for a report of a male in his 50s who had been stabbed. In came in as a possible report, then later was updated to be a stabbing, so right now that person has been taken to hospital and police are investigating,” said Cst. Crystal Evelyn from the Kamloops RCMP.
