Avalanche Canada expands public slide warning to include eight regions

REVELSTOKE, B.C. — Avalanche Canada has expanded a special public avalanche warning to include a large portion of the Rocky Mountain range.

A notice posted to the agency’s website shows eight regions now subject to the warning:

• North Rockies
• Cariboos
• Jasper National Park
• Banff, Yoho, & Kootenay National Parks
• Kananaskis Country
• South Rockies
• Lizard & Flathead
• Waterton Lakes National Park

Avalanche Canada says the mild weather the region is expected to experience over the next week will destabilize the snowpack in the alpine.
