Former Kamloops Chiefs/Vancouver Canucks player Rob Flockhart dies at age 64.

KAMLOOPS — Former Kamloops Chiefs and Vancouver Canucks player Rob Flockhart has died.

Flockhart, who was 64, passed away early Saturday morning, January 2, of a heart attack.

He played for the Kamloops Chiefs in the Western Canada Hockey League, now known as the Western Hockey League, from 1973 to 1976.

He played for Canada in 1975 in the second ever World Junior Hockey Championship.

Drafted in round three, 44th overall, in the 1976 NHL draft by the Vancouver Canucks, Flockhart played with the Canucks, Minnesota North Stars, and Chicago Blackhawks.

He retired from pro hockey after the 1984-85 season.

Rob Flockhart, who had lived in Kamloops in recent years, is survived by his wife Rosalind, two daughters and two sons.
