B.C. sees 673 new COVID-19 cases, 21 more deaths, 66 more cases in Interior

VICTORIA — B.C. is reporting 673 new cases of COVID-19, including 66 within Interior Health.

In her briefing Thursday (Dec. 17), Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said that raises the total of those found with COVID-19 since the pandemic began to 44,776, spread through B.C. as follows:

  • 10,863 — Vancouver Coastal (up 145)
  • 28,481 — Fraser Health (up by 403)
  • 803 — Island Health (up by 4)
  • 3,064 — Interior Health (up by 66)
  • 1,462 — Northern Health (up by 47)
  • 107 — Reside outside of Canada (up by 8)

There are now 10,009 active cases of the virus within B.C., with 358 people in hospital including 93 in critical or intensive care.
