KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops construction sector’s record year pushed even higher in October.
New totals released by the City of Kamloops Building Inspection Division show $19.1 million in construction activity last month, pushing the year-to-date total to $366.6 million.
October’s building activity included permits issued for 74 new residential units and more than $2 million in commercial projects.
The record 2020 building year has been propped up by the massive Royal Inland Hospital Patient Care Tower project. The tower is touted to be worth more than $400 million, though a portion of those permits were issued in previous years.
