Massive RIH Patient Care Tower permit elevates Kamloops building sector to new record year

KAMLOOPS — Three-quarters of the way through 2020, a huge permit for the Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) Patient Care Tower has pushed the Kamloops construction sector into record territory.
The City of Kamloops Building Inspection Division recorded a whopping $122.6 million in permits issued in September, buoyed by a single $94.5 million permit for the massive RIH project.
The year-to-date total has now reached $347.5 million, well exceeding the $288.3 million single-year record set in 2019.
