VANCOUVER – British Columbia conservation officers say a young girl is recovering after being bitten by a black bear in North Vancouver.
The Conservation Officer Service says the 10-year-old girl was walking along the Rice Lake Loop with her family when the incident occurred Friday afternoon.
It says in a social media post that a bystander helped scare the bear away.
It says the girl was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and no one else was hurt.
