Twenty new cases but no additional COVID-19 deaths in BC

VICTORIA — B.C. health officials are reporting 20 new cases of COVID-19 in the last day, and no new deaths in the province. The last time B.C recorded 20 new cases over a day was June 25, exactly two weeks ago.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry reported the total number of recorded cases in B.C. now stands at 3,028. The virus is being blamed for 186 deaths.

The number of active cases in the province has jumped by 13 to 175. However, the number of people in hospital is unchanged at 17. That includes four who are in intensive care.

There have been no new cases in the Interior Health region.
