Prince George fire investigators continue to search for evidence in fatal motel fire

PRINCE GEORGE — Fire investigators continue to comb the scene a fire in downtown Prince George that claimed three lives yesterday (July 8).

Police say specially trained fire investigators with the RCMP will be at the scene of the fire for a number of days gathering evidence.

“The Prince George RCMP is hoping to speak with anyone that may have video or still images within a two-block radius of the motel between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Wednesday July 8,” says RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass.

“Those that can assist are asked to contact the detachment at 250-561-3300. Dashcam video while driving by, cell phone images or security surveillance images, would be greatly appreciated.”

Douglass adds “the BC Coroners Service is conducting a parallel investigation to determine who died, and how, where and by what means they came to their unexpected deaths. Due to the privacy of the deceased, identities will not be provided.”
