Conservation Officer service to investigate death of Brocklehurst badger

KAMLOOPS — The B.C. Conservation Officer service is not letting the death of Sam the Brocklehurst badger go uninvestigated.
In a Facebook post made Thursday morning (May 7), the service says it will conduct a necropsy on Sam.
Sam burrowed up into Cherie Bitz’s garden earlier this week — a rare occurrence in B.C., as badgers are a protected species.
Because badgers can be aggressive toward humans and pets, the C.O. service set a trap in hopes of relocating the animal.
