Major Crime Unit investigating missing Quesnel man

QUESNEL, B.C. — RCMP are requesting immediate assistance in finding a missing man and two vehicles of interest.

Louis Korkowski was last seen in west Quesnel on May 4, after 6 p.m. Quesnel RCMP say that he has not been seen or had contact with friends and family since then.

Police are concerned for Korkowski’s well-being and are asking anyone who may have seen him or know his whereabouts to contact RCMP.

Due to the suspicious nature of the incident, the North District Major Crime Unit (ND MCU) has been called to assist with the case.

Korkowski is described as:

  • Male
  • 33-years-old
  • 5’4″
  • 110 lbs
  • Black short hair
  • Brown eyes
  • Last seen wearing black track pants with a stripe, blue jacket and black Mulisha sweater

So far RCMP efforts have identified two vehicles of interest, a 2003 Ford Explorer and a 2007 Grey Toyota Matrix.

Both of the described vehicles were last seen around the area of Sylvia’s Cafe, in the 5600-block of Nazko Hwy. in Quesnel just after 9 p.m. on May 4th.

We are asking anyone who may have information about Louis or the vehicles since May 4, 2020 at 7 p.m., to immediately contact the Quesnel RCMP Detachment.” —S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet, BC RCMP Communications

“The Explorer and Matrix were last known to bearing BC licence plates, KF087R and KA111X, respectively, however we recognize these plates may have been changed or altered, so we are asking the public to concentrate on the vehicle descriptions and photo, rather than the plates,” added Shoihet.

Ford Explorer described as:

  • 2003, Green in colour
  • BC license plate KF087R
  • Dent in the passenger door
  • Roof Track
  • Black tinted windows
  • Grey five prong rims
  • Chrome body trim

Toyota Matrix is described as:

  • 2007, grey
  • Black paint and peeling damage to roof
  • Sticker residue on the passenger side door

Anyone with information in relation to either/or both vehicles or Louis, is asked to call 911.
