MAP: Thefts from motor vehicles — Week of April 13, 2020

KAMLOOPS — RCMP say physical distancing guidelines aren’t preventing criminals from getting up close and personal with Kamloops vehicles.

New numbers from the Kamloops RCMP detachment show 51 reports of theft from motor vehicle for the week of April 13 to 19.

Media spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the reports came in from all neighbourhoods of the city.

Shelkie says there is typically an increase in these reports during the spring, thanks to milder temperatures and more daylight every day, but she says numbers are up this year.
