VICTORIA — The provincial government says its new B.C. Business COVID-19 Support Service will serve as a single point of contact for businesses looking for information and resources.

In a news release, the province says the support service will be operated by non-profit organization Small Business BC (SBBC).

“We know that business owners are worried about paying their bills and covering their payrolls, and our government is doing everything we can to help,” said Michelle Mungall, B.C.’s Minister of Jobs, Economic Development and Competitiveness. “There are multiple programs available, including the B.C. government’s COVID-19 Action Plan, to support businesses through these challenging times. I encourage people in the business community to reach out to Small Business BC to learn more.”

Starting today (Apr. 16), advisors will be available Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Owners can call 1 (833) 254-4357 and can also email covid@smallbusinessbc.ca for inquiries.

“The immediate impacts of COVID-19 are being felt by businesses across the province,” Tom Conway, CEO of Small Business BC said in the release. “This new support service will help businesses connect quickly with our existing programs and services, and also learn about the supports being provided by the federal and provincial governments.”

SBBC’s dedicated website will have announcements from industry and community partners, along with different resources which include webinars and practical tools.
