One injured in crash that closed Highway 97 through the Cariboo

QUESNEL, B.C. — One person suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning (Jan. 23) about 37 kilometres south of Quesnel on Highway 97.
BC RCMP Cpl. Mike Halskov says at 10:25 a.m. Quesnel RCMP and emergency services were called to the scene of the head-on crash between a semi trailer and a pickup truck.
“The southbound semi lost control in very bad road conditions and its trailer swung out into the oncoming lane, striking the northbound pickup,” he says.
Halskov says the highway is now open to single-lane alternating traffic.
