KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Fire Rescue says its crews responded to a series of highway crashes in the snow Monday morning (Jan. 6), the most significant of which came in Cherry Creek.

Platoon Cpt. Wade Lindoff says after a two-vehicle collision, a car went off the Trans Canada Highway and over an embankment.

“The car did end up going over an embankment of about 20 feet. There was no extrication required, other than [first responders] did go down and help the one victim out of the vehicle onto a stretcher. We had to set up… a rope system to get her up the bank to the ambulance.”

Lindoff says several patients were taken to hospital for treatment of injuries.
