Further snowfall expected for Hope to Merritt section of Coquihalla

MERRITT — The Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt is expected to see even more snowfall throughout today (Jan. 5).
A snowfall warning issued by Environment Canada throughout the weekend says the periods of snow may be heavy at times, and could bring up to 10 cm today and again tonight.
The weather service also notes that a Pacific warm front coming in Monday will bring even more snowfall early tomorrow morning (Jan. 6), and accumulations could be around 15 cm during the daytime.
The flow of moist and unstable air around the Coquihalla means the weather in the mountains can change suddenly, and result in hazardous driving conditions.
