O baby: Olivia, Oliver most popular B.C. baby names in 2019

VICTORIA — Some familiar names are topping the list of most popular baby monikers in 2019.

According to B.C.’s Ministry of Health, nearly 41,000 babies were born in this province this year up until December 18.

The most popular name chosen by new parents was Olivia. That was followed by Oliver and Lucas.

Rounding out the top 10 for the year were Liam, Ethan, Noah, William, Benjamin, Charlotte, Emma and Leo.

Olivia takes over from Liam, which was the top baby name in 2018.
