ROAD CLOSURE

Update: Highway 97 reopened near Westwold

KAMLOOPS — UPDATED: According to Drive BC, Highway 97 is now open in both directions, and the road has been cleared.

PREVIOUS: Heads up for drivers- Highway 97 is closed in both directions from Falkland to about 19 km east of Monte Creek, due to hydro lines knocked down.

So far Drive BC has no estimated time of reopening, and is asking drivers in the Kamloops, Vernon, Westwold, and Monte Lake areas to use alternate routes.

The next update is expected sometime around 10 a.m.
