KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops & District Labour Council will host it’s annual Labour Day picnic in McDonald Park today (Sept. 2).

President of the Kamloops & District Labour Council, Lois Rugg says the free, family event celebrates working people of all kinds.

“That’s one of the things that unions do very well. We do work for a lot of very good issues, and Labour Day just sort of brings it out to the forefront. Just to remind us that these are the important things that we’ve got to continue to work on.”

The Labour Day picnic runs from 11 a.m to 2 p.m, featuring family activities, a performance from the Serious Dogs, and a charity barbeque.
