Adam Levine Breaks Silence
Adam Levine is speaking out for the first time to address the controversy surrounding Maroon 5’s decision to perform in the 2019 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
There are many celebrities boycotting the Super Bowl this year due to the NFL’s treatment of Colin Kaepernick, who hasn’t played professionally in years following his decision to kneel during the National Anthem in protest of police brutality.
“I’m not in the right profession if I can’t handle a little bit of controversy. It’s what it is. We expected it. We’d like to move on from it and speak through the music,” Adam said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I silenced all the noise and listened to myself and made my decision based upon how I felt.”
Adam confirms that he consulted others on the decision to perform, but ultimately it came down to his own opinion. “No one thought about it harder than I did. No one put more thought and love into this than I did.”
