Kamloops Classics haul in medals and set records at their Invitational Meet.

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Classic Swim Club had an outstanding weekend winning their own 26th Annual MJB Law Invitational Swim Meet, Dec 14 – 18, 2018.  The club hosted 375 swimmers from 14 clubs throughout BC and Alberta.

 

The Classic’s placed 2nd in the meet while winning a total of 78 Medals (34 Gold, 24 Silver and 20 Bronze Medals) and setting a total of 9 new club records.

 

The following swimmers put in outstanding performances over the weekend:

 

Keana Smart in the 15 & Over Girls Age Group set a new club record in the 50 Backstroke and won 2 Gold Medals in the 50 and 100 Backstrokes and a Bronze Medal in the 200 Backstroke.

 

Sienna Angove in the 11 & 12 Girls Age Group set two new club records in the 50 and 100 Breaststrokes and won 3 Gold Medals in 50,100 and 200 Breaststrokes and 4 Silver Medals in the 200 Fly, 200 Back, 200 and 400 IM’s

 

Ryder Litke in the 11 & 12 Boys Age Group set two new club records in the 200 & 400 IM’s. He also won 7 Gold Medals in the 100 & 200 Breaststrokes, 200 Fly, Back and Freestyle, and the 200 & 400 IM’s. Plus, a Silver Medal in the 50 Free.

 

Haley Rowden in the 15 & Over Girls Age Group set two new club records in the 50 and 200 Breaststrokes while winning those events and the 200 Breaststroke.

 

Sarah Koopman in the 15 & Over Girls Age Group set a new club records in the 100 Fly while winning the event and winning the 200 IM and 50 Fly.
