HOZIER TO SPEAK AT FORBES UNDER 30 SUMMIT: Marshmello and Hozier are among the marquee acts who’ll be appearing at the fifth annual Forbes Under 30 Summit, which brings bring together more than 7,000 young visionaries, disruptors and entrepreneurs from around the world in Boston later this month. Marshmello, born Christopher Comstock, will headline the Summit’s kickoff event, the Forbes Under 30 Music Festival, taking place September 30th at Boston’s City Hall Plaza. Rapper/producer Russ and beatboxer Butterscotch are also on the bill for the festival. At the actual Summit, which runs through October 3rd, Hozier will be one of the speakers, along with other celebrities like Olympic skater Adam Rippon, U.S. Senator John Kerry, Spanx founder Sara Blakely and AOL co-founder Steve Case. Hozier will be appearing at the event in between dates on his fall North American tour, which kicks off September 15th in Ottawa. His new EP Nina Cried Power is out this Friday.

‘AMERICAN IDOL’ FINALIST ADA VOX RELEASES FIRST SINGLE: Ada Vox is kicking her post-American Idol career into gear with a brand-new song. The song, “Because of You,” is a dance track that showcases Ada’s soaring vocals and an uplifting message about overcoming odds, thanks to people who believe in you. The track was produced by Bimbo Jones, who’s worked with Rihanna and Lady Gaga. Ada, the drag queen alter ego of 24-year-old Adam Sanders, made it to the American Idol top eight last season. She’s playing tour dates across the country through the fall; her next show is in Cincinnati on September 7th.

VANILLA ICE ABOARD QUARANTINED PLANE AT JFK: Vanilla Ice tweeted yesterday that he was aboard the Emirates flight that was quarantined at JFK after numerous passengers were reported ill. He wrote, “So I just landed in New York coming back from Dubai and now I’m stuck on the runway with like 1000 police, ambulances, fire trucks, this is crazy.” The “Ice Ice Baby” singer also shared a video on Facebook taken out the window of the plane after landing in which he and a seat mate can be heard discussing what’s happening. Ten passengers were rushed to the hospital after the plane was allowed to disembark. Emirates tweeted updates and said, “The safety & care of our customers is our first priority.”

ED SHEERAN HEADLINING FIRST-EVER MUSIC 4 MENTAL HEALTH EVENT IN LONDON: Ed Sheeran will be headlining the debut Music 4 Mental Healthevent in London this fall. The charity event is presented by the U.K. mental health campaign #IAMWHOLE, which aims to end the stigma around mental illness by encouraging young people to speak up and seek help. “I’m so excited to be taking part in the first-ever Music 4 Mental Health event at the Roundhouse in November,” Sheeran says. “Music is such an amazing way of taking the mental health conversation to a new level.” Ed’s pal Anne-Marie will also be performing at the November 18th event, along with James Arthur. Music 4 Mental Health will raise funds for the U.K. and Ireland’s leading youth and mental health charities, the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), The Mix and YMCA. Tickets go on sale September 7th.
