OSCAR PISTORIUS DOCUMENTARY WILL LAUNCH WITH AMAZON: Amazon has picked up Pistorius, a four-part documentary about the South African Olympic runner who killed his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. The global launch will be available on September 6. Oscar Pistorius is still in prison.

CHINA’S CINEMA-GOERS ARE SPENDNG BILLIONS: China’s theatrical box office is running $1 billion ahead of last year, showing a gain of nearly 17% in the first months. That is despite an uneven summer period. Chinese cinema-goers spent $6.79 billion (including ticketing fees) in the first eight months of 2018. The figure compares with a like-for-like $5.79 billion in the same period of 2017. (Variety)

FX RELEASES TEASER FOR ‘AMERICAN HORROR STORY’: FX just released the first footage of the next installments of American Horror Story. Key players will be returning including Jessica Lange, Taissa Farmiga, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Dylan McDermott, and Frances Conroy. Even Emma Robertsmakes her return, reprising her iconic line: “I bet you thought you’d seen the last of me.” American Horror Story: Apocalypse debuts on September 12.

HARRISON FORD TO BE HONORED BY SAG-AFTRA FOUNDATION: The SAG-AFTRA foundation will present this year’s Artist Inspiration Awards and Harrison Ford will be among those honored. Honorees from years past include Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
