Brad Pitt facing lawsuit

A lawsuit over the degradation of homes built in an area of New Orleans slammed by Hurricane Katrina is headed Brad Pitt‘s way, according to an Associated Press report. The lawsuit filed against Pitt’s Make It Right foundation will be filed on behalf of Lower Ninth Ward residents hired by attorney Ron Austin.

Plaintives are reporting sickness, headaches and infrastructural issues. Pitt formed Make it Right in 2007, two years after Katrina destroyed what would become an enclave the foundation built up again.

“Essentially, Make It Right was making a lot of promises to come back and fix the homes that they initially sold these people and have failed to do so,” Austin said.

150 avant-garde homes that were storm-safe, solar-powered and green were planned beginning in 2008. The average price was $150K. Flash forward a decade and $26 million later, construction has stopped with 110 homes built, many of which are falling apart.
