SALMON ARM — A man charged in connection with a dramatic vehicle crash and fire at the 7-Eleven store in Salmon Arm last Friday remains in custody, awaiting a psychiatric assessment.
Thirty-seven year old Kenneth Robert LaForge, a Shuswap resident, appeared in court Tuesday for a bail hearing on charges of arson and mischief.
The Crown Prosecution Service says LaForge’s next appearance in Salmon Arm provincial court will take place on September 25.
Four people fled from the burning building during last Friday’s incident, police said.
