B.C. teams open with wins at Nationals at TRU

KAMLOOPS — Both BC teams were winners in the opening day of the Canada Basketball U-15 and U-17 boys nationals at the TCC.

 In the U-17 division, BC downed Ontario 75-67.  Teams were tied at 20 after the first quarter. BC led 41-36 at the half thanks to 19 points from Deigo Mafia who wound up with 34 points on the night.   Victor Radocaj had 16 points with Team Captain Liam McHensey contributing 16.

In the U-15 division, BC hammered the Northwest Territories 86-46 leading 51-13 at the half. Kamloops native Tyrelle Chadwick had 8 points and four rebounds. Cameraon Slaymaker led the way with 15 points.
