Canada defeats Sweden at World Junior Showcase

KAMLOOPS — Canada secured a win against Sweden Friday night at the World Junior Showcase.

Ontario’s Alex Formenton had the game-winning goal late in the second period, which was followed by two more Canadian goals in the third to defeat Sweden 4-1. 

The Showcase closes Saturday. 

Canada will take on the U.S. at 2 p.m., Sweden and Finland play at 5 p.m.
