Canada loses twice at World Junior Showcase

KAMLOOP — The U.S. took both games from Canada last night at the World Junior Showcase.

USA Team Blue defeated Canada White 3-2, breaking a 2-2 tie midway through the third period.

In the second game Canucks prospect Quinn Hughes took a pass from brother Jack and broke a 5-5 tie with 2:25 remaining and U.S. White went on to a 7-5 win over Canada Red.

There are no games today, with the Showcase resuming again tomorrow.

After practice today both Canada and the U.S. will cut back to one team for the rest of the Showcase.

Thursday’s schedule has the U.S. against Sweden at 1pm with Canada facing Finland at 6pm.

All games are at the Sandman Centre.
