$1.4 million retrofit for Logan Lake Municipal Hall

LOGAN LAKE — The District of Logan Lake has started work on a $1.4 million retrofit of its Municipal Hall.

$1.1 million of the total has been provided by the Logan Lake Community Forest.

The work entails converting the old fire hall into new space for local non-profit WHY (Wellness, Health, and Youth), new council chambers, plus new entrances and other improvements.

Chief Administrative Officer Randy Lambright says the upgrade is much needed.

“We’re actively following trends in our community because we do know new space is required for the WHY. They’re growing, they’re providing new programming and things of that nature. We’re also recognizing that this building is fairly old, it was originally built in the 1970s and ’80s.”

The retrofit is not expected to impact daily operations at the hall. The project is anticipated to be completed by the end of the year.
