Thompson Okanagan lacrosse teams playing for medals on Sunday
KAMLOOPS — The Thompson Okanagan box lacrosse team, which includes six Kamloops athletes, will play for a gold medal on Sunday after finishing undefeated in the round robin.
The Zone 2 squad won both games on Saturday, a 12-2 win over Team Indigenous and 5-2 over Fraser River, to wrap up the round robin 3-0, earning first in Pool A.
The Kamloops boys will play Vancouver Island, who went undefeated as well, including a 6-5 overtime win in its second game on Saturday to secure its spot in the final. The championship game goes at 10 a.m. on Sunday morning.
The field lacrosse team, meantime, will play for bronze on Sunday morning against Fraser Valley, which defeated Thompson Okanagan 11-1 on Friday night in the second round-robin game. The Zone 2 team has 11 Kamloops athletes.
