VICTORIA — The B-C Liberals are taking issue with the N-D-P government’s rules for the referendum campaign on proportional representation.
Liberal Michael Lee is accusing the government of setting the rules at the last minute, leaving those opposed to the proposal at a disadvantage.
The provincial government announced the rules last week including giving the designated opponent and proponent groups 500-thousand dollars each to get their message out.
A mail-in ballot referendum will take place from October 22nd to November 30th, and will ask two questions about what system voters would prefer for provincial elections. (The Canadian Press)
