In honor of her 25th birthday today, Ariana Grande is planning to give her fans a gift. The singer hinted that she’ll be releasing another taste of her upcoming album, Sweetener.

First, she posted an old home video of herself from 1996, showing herself waiting for a birthday “surprise” from her older brother Frankie. Her mom can be heard off camera telling her to close her eyes. The video ends before three-year-old Ariana gets her gift.

Ariana then tweeted that she’ll be giving fans a surprise gift of her own.

“I know we’re not really doing snippets but i do wanna give u sum special for my birthday if that’s ok…might post it tonight,” she wrote. “i promise this’ll be the last of it.”

Sweetener will be released on August 17.

And if you’re wondering what Frankie’s surprise gift to Ariana was, Ariana couldn’t remember, but her mom, Joan Grande, came to the rescue on Twitter.

“Frankie got you a big Tasmanian Devil weighted walker balloon, so he could sit next to you and you danced with him all day…..” she tweeted at Ariana. “I’ve got that on video too… I love you almost birthday girl… xoxo.”

Meanwhile, Ariana is over all the hateful comments when it comes to her engagement to SNL’s Pete Davidson. A fan account of the singer’s has taken screenshots of Grande defending herself and her fianc, and fans of Grande love her response.

In one screenshot, one person comments that Pete is possibly giving the middle finger to Grande’s dedicated fan base.

Although it seems the commenter was making a joke, Grande wanted to clear the air and respond to any negativity that involves her relationship. Grande wrote: “R u nuTS?????? The PAPS..not YOU……???? ever…??? stop w this sh-. please. forreal. i love y’all too much for this. enough w the ig / twitter war thing. it ends now.”

Supporters of Ariana are impressed with how she’s handling the constant coverage of her whirlwind romance.

Still, it appears that Ariana isn’t wholly unfazed by all the comments. When a fan asked her why she included the sample “You wouldn’t let anybody speak and instead” in her song “The Light Is Coming,” Grande responded that the line referred to people’s personal opinions and how they are unable to fully hear others.

The sample in the song, which was produced by Pharrell Williams in collaboration with Nicki Minaj, is from a 2009 town hall meeting in which Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. Arlen Specter and a constituent argue over privatizing health insurance.
