Police respond to home invasion and assault in Williams Lake

WILLIAMS LAKE — Police are busy probing a home invasion and assault in Williams Lake.

North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says police were called to a local motel just before 4:00 a.m. today where they discovered that two units were broken into and the occupants in each unit had been assaulted.

“Investigation indicates that a group of males entered two of the units, allegedly assaulted the occupants and stole property belonging to the occupants as well as property from the motel. The suspects fled the scene in what is believed to be a black SUV.”

Saunderson adds police believe the incident was targeted and that the public is not at risk.
