MERRITT, B.C. — Merritt RCMP are asking residents to be wary of anyone selling what appears to be expensive jewelry at gas stations, malls, or city parks.

On May 30 police received a report of a man and woman selling jewelry out of a black Mitsubishi SUV.

The vehicle was a rental from Calgary, and according to police its two occupants have a history of selling fake jewelry in order to steal expensive jewelry from victims.

The two suspects are part of a large family group travelling from Ontario to the Lower Mainland.
