Jeff Goldblum Goes Jazz
May 31, 2018 | 6:45 AM
In a move that feels inevitable, Jeff Goldblum is releasing a jazz album. The Jurassic Park star grew up learning classical and jazz piano and performed in cocktail lounges as a teenager.
And while he has continued to pursue jazz, and has performed with his band The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra for years, he has never recorded an album.
- That all changed when execs at Decca Records saw Goldblum perform with Gregory Porter on The Graham Norton Show, and the head of A&R reached out.
- Decca’s Tom Lewis told Esquire: “As far as I can tell, everyone loves Jeff Goldblum. It’s like a universal truth … He’s a fantastic jazz pianist, a great band leader and just about the loveliest man in the world.
- “His love of jazz is infectious and whenever he plays he makes you feel very happy.”
- The release of the album will coincide with his return to Jurassic Park in Fallen Kingdom and his role in Hotel Artemis opposite Jodie Foster.
