CP rail train operators on strike

TORONTO — C-P Rail has a tentative agreement with the union representing its signalling workers, but more than three-thousand train operators are out on strike.
The Teamsters Canada Rail Conference members walked out late last night as negotiations continued with the assistance of federal mediators.
Commuter train services in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver were not affected this morning, but the strike could force the railroad to shut down its freight service at a particularly bad time for grain farmers.
