Florence + The Machine New Single: Watch Here

May 4, 2018 | 6:15 AM

Florence + The Machine released a new song called “Hunger” on Thursday (May 4th), while announcing that the band’s fourth studio album, titled High As Hope, will arrive on June 29th. Singer Florence Welch said about the new track, “This song is about the ways we look for love in things that are perhaps not love, and how attempts to feel less alone can sometimes isolate us more. I guess I made myself more vulnerable in this song to encourage connection, because perhaps a lot more of us feel this way than we are able to admit.”

  • Welch wrote, co-produced and recorded most of the new LP in solitude, and the songs were finished in Los Angeles with co-producer Emile Haynie and other collaborators.
  • The new effort follows up 2015’s How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, which featured the singles “What Kind Of Man” and “Ship To Wreck.”
  • Florence + The Machine previously released the song “Sky Full Of Song” on April 12th.
  • The band has also announced that it will play six intimate tour dates in the U.S. and U.K. later this month, and will open for the Rolling Stones in London on May 25th.
