KAMLOOPS — Now that Ken Christian has been elected mayor, Arjun Singh, the acting mayor, will slide back into his council chair.

Singh said on Monday it’s been an honour to have served as acting mayor since Peter Milobar officially stepped down at the end of June.

One of the highlights for Singh was seeing the city come together to help wildfire evacuees this summer.

“It was pretty awesome to be able to represent that to folks and say look at the all the amazing generosity, the amazing volunteerism that happened across the community,” he said. “We went from 90,000 to 101,000 in about a week and a half there. The community just really stepped up.”
