Judge denies bail for Kamloops murder suspect

KAMLOOPS — The man accused in Kamloops’ first homicide of the year has been denied bail.

32 year old Eric Charlie is charged in the January 22nd killing of 30 year old John Southwell.

Southwell was stabbed to death, stumbling into a Tranquille Road sushi restaurant before dying in hospital.

Charlie was arrested upon his release from Kamloops Regional Correctional Centre March 5th.

He had been serving time on an unrelated matter.

In BC Provincial Court today, Charlie was remanded in custody until his next court appearance, which is set for April 11th.
