Fred Seymour has been elected the new Chief of the Tk'emlups Indian Band. Seymour replaces Shane Gotfriedson who was Chief for twelve years before being elected as the B.C. Regional Chief with the Assembly of First Nations.

A First Nations Oil Pipeline Development Summit will be held in Kamloops this week. Organized by the Lower Nicola Indian Band, Chief Aaron Sam says the conference is to bring First Nations together from Alberta and B.C. to discuss the proposed expansion of the Trans Mountain Pipeline.
