CP train derails near Hells Gate in Fraser Canyon

HELLS GATE, B.C. — Crews are on scene near Hells Gate in the Fraser Canyon, where a CP Rail train derailed and leaked some fuel.

The derailment happened at about 12:55 a.m. Thursday, and Emergency Management BC (EMBC) says an environmental emergency response officer been deployed.

Missing Kitimat boater

KITIMAT —  A search continues this morning for a missing boater in Kitimat harbour.

     The Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Victoria says two people were on board a four-metre long aluminum vessel when it overturned after taking on water in heavy rain and near zero visibility.

Highway 1 reopens from Bridal Falls to Hope following mudslide

KAMLOOPS - UPDATE - 8:15 a.m. November 25 - Highway 1 is now open in both directions from Bridal Falls to Hope.

Motorists should still expect a slowdown in the area as eastbound and westbound is down to single lane traffic to allow crews to clean up the debris.
