Westsyde residents have a lot to prove

KAMLOOPS — Your butt does not lie.

Your words can be doubted, but your butt will always tell the truth.

For example, I could say that I’m a big outdoorsman, but if my butt doesn’t like to move from the couch in front of my TV, you know that’s a lie.

The same goes for priorities.

If a company tells you customer service is a priority, but their employees’ butts don’t come near you, you know the truth.

Numbers will tell you exactly what the butts are doing.

For example, the City of Kamloops has numbers that show the Westsyde pool is poorly used, and that many Westsyde residents already choose to drive all the way to the Tournament Capital Centre so they can use the Canada Games Pool for their leisure swimming.

Councillor Tina Lange was undoubtedly paying attention to those numbers this week, when she said this:

Until she heard the people talking.

As a politician, she has to do that, I suppose.

She has to hear those people talking.

But I can look at the number, and pardon me, I can look at the butts.

If they say Westsyde residents don’t actually care about the pool, I can advocate tearing it down and building something better a lot closer than the TCC.

Nonetheless, council has decided to fix the pool and keep it open, all the while keeping a close eye on those numbers we were talking about, the ones that tell you what the butts are doing.

Kamloops council will fix your pool.

They bought it, Westsyde.

You pulled one over on them.

Now get your butts inside that pool before they wise up.
