Mountie enforcing distracted driving rules struck in hit-and-run in Richmond

RICHMOND, B.C. — RCMP say a Mountie enforcing distracted driving laws in Richmond, B.C., was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene.

Police say an officer stopped a brown 2005 Audi after the driver was seen allegedly using a mobile device while behind the wheel on Monday.

Message of love, tolerance spread at anti-racism rally in Vancouver

VANCOUVER — Thousands of people have joined a protest against racism and hate at Vancouver’s city hall.

Vancouver Police say about 4,000 people attended Saturday’s rally and the crowd was so large that a busy road in the area had to be closed to vehicle traffic.
