KAMLOOPS — The sewer main break that caused a big stink in downtown Kamloops Wednesday and Thursday has been repaired by city crews.

Utility Services Manager Greg Wightman says crews got a handle on things Thursday night.

“Absolutely. Our crews were out there since six o’clock Wednesday night. It was a very challenging situation just given the location of the break but fantastic work by the crews, they got everything fixed and repaired at eight o’clock and we were able to get our pump station back running in normal operation.”

As a result of the fix, he says residents in the eastern section of town no longer need to conserve their water use.
