KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops RCMP have officially deemed Wednesday night’s fire on the North Shore as “suspicious.”

Sgt. Brandon Buliziuk says an investigation has revealed that a person drove up to the home at 217 Nelson Avenue at around 9 p.m. and tossed an explosive device into the home.

He says Kamloops Fire Rescue quickly responded and confirmed there was no one inside at the time.

“Kamloops RCMP investigators are working with KFR to gather evidence relating to the fire. A blue newer model pickup was observed near the residence and the suspect is believed to have fled in this vehicle.”
